Hardent knives:
Hardent werkgericht line:
What are the Hardent werkgericht knives?
Great question! The werkgericht knives are a line of knives that are durable, high performance and budget friendly. They are always monosteel blades with a polished spine and choil, usually with a shiny ku finish and satin bevels. The handles are polished ebony. The werkgericht knives come in many shapes and sizes, from petty to breadsword.
What grind is right for you?
A kitchen knife can have many different grinds. These are roughly categorisable in laser, midweight and workhorse.

A laser grind usually has a very thin spine and thus also a very thin edge. These blades are usually very light and have the highest cutting performance of all.

Midweight blades have a bit thicker spine, usually between 3 and 4.5mm. Midweight grinds have a strong distal taper, resulting in a sturdy heel but a very thin mid and tip section.

Workhorse blades are usually blades with a thick spine(4.5mm and over). They often have a thicker grind as well, though still with a strong taper. Workhorse blades are more sturdy and are less prone to chipping. Their added weight also helps with cutting.

Unfortunatly its impossible to tell someone what grind they need just by text. It is a personal preference and something you will find out as you use more blades. However, these descriptions can be a good guide and reference to get started.
